This memorial website was created in memory of our loved one, Herman Cook Jr 69 years old, born on January 19, 1949 and passed away on June 21, 2018. We will remember him forever.


Herman L. Cook Jr. was born on January 19, 1949 to the union of Herman L. Cook Sr. and Ruth Cook. He departed this earth on June 21, 2018.Herman was raised in Cincinnati Ohio and was a graduate of Withrow High School.As a young man, Herman joined the House of God under the Leadership of Bishop Daniel Campbell.Herman joined the United States Air Force in 1968 and was a Vietnam Veteran.During his military career he was stationed in several locations including Maine, Japan, and Dayton Ohio.After proudly serving his Country, he returned to Dayton Ohio where he worked for the Department of Defense.Herman was a skilled mechanic and sheet metal fabricator who never hesitated to share his skill with others.Later in life he worked at the Regional Transit Authority when he was a bus driver and a mechanic.

Herman enjoyed listening to music and watching movies.He had an extensive album collection showcasing some of the best old school music.Herman enjoyed life, was very outgoing, and never met a stranger. He sharpened his bingo skills during a stay at the VA Hospital and became quite good while enjoying himself and winning many rounds.Herman enjoyed being a help to his family and friends whom he loved very much and who loved him in return.Herman was a devoted grandfather who delighted in spending time with his grandchildren.

Herman was united in matrimony to Theresa Cook (nee Hobson).To this union three children were born; Julian, Brittany, and Xavier who proceeded him in death.In addition to Teresa, Julian, and Brittany; Herman leaves to mourn his passing Mother Ruth Johnson; granddaughters Jaylynn and Teriyonc’e, brothers Anthony, Michael, and James Johnson and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
