I had him for my 6th grade teacher have thought of him often over the years he was a very good teacher and cared for his students. He was always kind to me I was a very lonely child and shy he took time with me to make me feel like I mattered in the world. I asked where he went after he left and was told he got a job with Reynolds tobacco . He  was the one teacher that I remember fondly of. You were luckey to have him for a father I wish I had one like him.

Dad, I can't believe three years have passed. Seems like just yesterday. I think of you most days and am reminded how lucky I am to have you in my life. I know you are there guiding me and watching over me. I love you more than words could ever describe. What I wouldn't give to hear that whistle now.

Three years later and dad crosses my mind more and more each passing day. We never get over losing a parent, we just learn how to live without them. Thanks Buddy for teaching me what to, and what not to do in life. Love you Pop!

Larry Odom,
I liked reading your tribute, you just put a BIG smile on my face! It's nice to hear stories about dad. That sounds just like something he would do "hunting". Before he passed he spoke a lot about wanting to hunt and visit old friends. I guess he knew the end was near and wanted to enjoy what he loved best. Keep sharing!

With the baseball season opening I am reminded of Buddy's love of baseball and his skill as a catcher. Just yesterday I told someone about our bird hunting days when we would "Buddy hunt". What that meant was that we would let the dogs out and they would cover a field. If their was not a point on birds we would call the dogs in and go to another hunting spot. "The good old days"

Thinking of you today daddy with a heavy heart. I so wish you were here today. Molly misses you a lot too, I so wish I could here your voice and see your big smile. If only I could call you and hear how you would always greet me with a happy tone and a "hey baby". I miss that more than you could ever know. I know you are in a better place and watching over us. Until we meet again. Pearl

Janis Brown, I just read your tribute. He probably was your teacher as he did teach in Florida for awhile. He spoke about his students and how much he liked teaching. Thanks for the kind words, it's always nice to hear how positively he impacted people. Was such a great father and friend.

I am very sorry to hear that Buddy has died. He was one of my favorite coworkers when he was at Howard Perry and Walston. We will always remember his sense of humor, comments and laughs.

I am saddened to hear of the passing of Buddy. Buddy was always the friend you could count on. Buddy was really one who should have been called "your Buddy". From baseball to hunting Buddy was always "your Buddy".

Buddy and I were friends all during high school and beyond. He was an usher in our wedding. Sylvia and I extend our deepest sympathy and prayers to Mrs. Weaver and Jean and other family members. Truly a friend and I'll miss him.

To the Family. The Bible assures us at Psalm 34:18 "Jehovah is near to those that are broken at heart; and those who are crushed in spirit he saves." More than anything else, a relationship with God can help you cope with the death of your loved on
