Hestine Boyd Norwood Millikin, 86, a longtime resident of Halifax County passed away Wednesday, January 27, 2016.

A native of Person County, she was the daughter of the late Leonard Boyd and Beatrice Pearl Elliott. She was a member of West Oxford Baptist Church and retired from nursing.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, January 30, 2016 at West Oxford Baptist Church by Wes Garner, Jr. Burial will be in Grassy Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

Surviving are three daughters, Linda N. Riggan (William) of Kittrell, Brenda Vaughan (James Edward) of Sevierville, TN, Carolyn Childers (Tony) of Raleigh, two sons, Charlie C. Norwood of Oxford, Dennis Ray Norwood of Norlina (Katherine), a sister, Gracie Napier of Semora, a brother, Bobby Boyd of Oxford, twelve grandchildren, twenty-four great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Charlie H. Norwood and Perry Millikin, a sister, Pauline Richards a brother, William Boyd and a granddaughter, Cari Lynn Murphy.

Flowers accepted or memorials can be made to West Oxford Baptist Church.

Visitation will be held Saturday, January 30, 2016 for 12:30 – 2:00 P.M. prior to the funeral service at West Oxford Baptist Church and at other times at the home of her son, Charlie Norwood.
