In life...........
I have learned- that a Battle against your Spiritual Father is a Battle you can NEVER WIN, no matter who is backing you so Don't even attempt it, you can never win it.
I have learned - that You may be annointed to kill Goliath but will forever not be Anointed and Permitted to Kill Saul.
They can ask David whenever they see him.
I have learned - You cannot ERASE the Man who RAISED you. You cannot DISHONOUR the Man who made people HONOUR you.
I have learned - You cannot bring EMBARRASSMENT to the Man who gave you ENDORSEMENT.
I have learned - Never become a PROBLEM to the Man who gave you a PLATFORM to Rise.
I have learned- Never become a WARFARE to the Man who took care of your WELFARE.
I have learned- Determine not to become a DISAPPOINTMENT to the Man who gave you APPOINTMENT. How can a Man put so much INVESTMENT into your life, and your thank you to him, is to put so much BEREAVEMENT into his own life.
I have learned- In most cases, Fathers may be the one who WRONGED you, but still remember, the God who ANOINTED David to kill Goliath will not ALLOW him to kill Saul.
I have learned- The DRUNKENNESS of Noah is not a licence to expose his NAKEDNESS.
That will be WICKEDNESS AND FOOLISHNESS in the sight Of God.
I have learned- One of the Sons of Noah EXPOSED his Father's NAKEDNESS, FORGETTING it was his Father's RIGHTEOUSNESS that once SAVED him from the FLOOD. Remember, Noah found GRACE with GOD, yet he found DISGRACE with his Son.
I have learned- Some Sons think they are more RIGHTEOUS than God who CHOSE a Man despite his WEAKNESS.
I have learned- If you KNOW the WEAKNESS of your Father, it is because he gave you the ACCESS you don't DESERVE. Imagine for a moment, if Noah had LOCKED himself up ALONE in his BEDROOM to drink his stuff, he will wake up and package himself all by himself, without any Son SEEING him and coming under a CURSE.
I have learned- The MISTAKE of Moses in MARRYING an Ethiopian Woman has not taken away from him the MANTLE to make Mariam LEPROUS.
I have learned- that people should beware and careful of the likes of Assistant Pastor Aaron. They will lead you in a FIGHT AGAINST your GOD-GIVEN MOSES, but when it is time for Leprosy to be given, the oil on their head MAY save them, but the GULLIBLE Mariam will suffer alone for following what is wrong. Indeed it was Aaron that led the attack against Moses, yet it was Miriam alone that suffered Leprosy.
I have learned- The MAN who came to TELL King David that Saul had DIED, would have been expecting David to rejoice that "finally my enemy is dead."
Instead, King David killed him and said your BLOOD be upon your own HEAD for your MOUTH has TESTIFIED against you that you KILLED the LORD'S ANNOINTED.
I have learned- those going through the pain of betrayal, receive healing from God and come out stronger. Some are Bleeding and Leading at the same time, yet Grace sufficient for them.
I have learned-, Times and seasons belongs to God and He is mindful of His own.
I have learned- that nothing is difficult or impossible for God to do.
Rest on Opuda!
I'm eternal grateful to have had the good fortune of representing your prestigious dynasty.
Always.

Opuda, Ebuye Lulu, the great one who doesn't need a tap full of tears from anyone to be generous neither can you ever be blackmailed to be charitable. Chief, whose benevolence knows no bound, name, tribe, title, position or political affiliation yet stretches forth to the four corners of the earth. The loving Husband, Amazing Father and a wonderful boss. The big Daddy himself who never distinguishes between true born and associates, the phenomenal and exceptional personality, let me start by saying that my knowledge and service to you and your dynasty has kept me humbled for the revelation is stronger than the pain I feel with regards to all things.
So I ask, Oh death where is thy sting? Death you are wicked just like that the illnesses that first occupied him. Alabo my commander general, you shall always remain honoured regardless. Death cannot cancel your essence. For your sake Opuda, kings shall come to your rising. Oh my good chief, you sure do deserve better and an excellently befitting honour that is due you, you shall receive.
For many years I had cautioned myself that with you one needs not to make or create enemies especially not on your account. You were by every measure a man of great means and affluence. Hospitable but firm. Your strength of forgiveness makes unguarded people mostly small minded people to think that they are smart and as such struggle to give a narrative as it were you needed a voice other than yours to speak truth to power. Sadly, they never learn ( but that is a discussion for another day).
My boss and principal, you need no interpretations or reasons to be the mighty man of good fortunes. God himself blessed you and as such you in turn made it a duty to reach out to others no matter their status, class or convictions. You are indeed a worthy inspiration to upcoming solid business men and a sound investment mentor to the disciplined minds.
You were goodness and compassion personified. Your very presences commands respect and reverence, your entrance into any circle is beyond game changer it has always manifested in impactful life experiences and at all times you had stood tall to face life's challenges.
Chief, your passing has brought a lot of attention to your person especially in public view, diverse opinions, blames, accusations, abuse, mockery and very unimaginable things. Sadly, suddenly everyone has something to say about you, I am convinced knowing that God is God all by himself, this phase too shall pass.
Opuda it's a year already and am hopeful that these vilification would not be the best of things the world will read about you. For I know of a certainty that you deserve better in all ramifications
You were a man of great value and principles. You have affectionately touched life's for the better it is therefore not in doubt that against all odds posterity shall remain kind to you and establish your legacies in pleasant places.
Opuda, as far as I know your only adversary was indeed your own mind . Your time on earth reveals that fortune makes your friends for you, ill-fortune make them enemies for sure. So am not shocked and has long resolved never to be for am persuaded to believe that your dynasty shall wax stronger
My principal, my boss , my oga, my chief, my father, Alabo, Ebuye Lulu, Inikeiroari you have joined the host of heavenly beings and your mortal transition shall be magnificent.
God shall continue to speak over all that concerns you.
Always,
Myne
God Bless and may you now Rest in Peace.
The one who is fondly known and called Opuda.
Dear Opuda, words are not adequate to describe your personality and character, but if asked to give a brief about you, then my one line brief would read thus;Opuda the leader with a heart to care, one that notices that people matter.
Eternal rest I pray God grants you and let perpetual light shine on you, while you rest in his bosom.
Adieu Opuda!
Adieu High Chief O.B Lulu-Briggs, God be with you till we meet to part no more.
For everything there is a season, a time to be born and a time to die, a time to weep and a time to laugh.
Your death is a tragic one, I had never thought that I would still see you, but death has taken you away. Why? why?.
I could still remember when you shared your memories with me. How you taught and gave me advice, oh my uncle, my loving uncle, how death has taken you away.
Adieu Uncle
Adieu, Adieu
Rest in Peace.
Your
lovely Rebecca Akpan-Jacobs
Big Daddy, as we fondly call you. I remembered back in the days at Igbodo Street, the way you usually sit in the sitting room and make funny jokes, to the point that when you are serious about any issue we don't even know because of the way you lived with us.
You always make us scared but once we get in, you will start laughing , i also remember when you drop sweets on the table for over a month, when you couldn't find it, you call everyone and laugh over it, and you tell us that you trust us.
BIG DADDY,,, May your Gentle Soul Rest in Peace. AMEN

With deep sense of loss, we the former employees of Moni Pulo Ltd (Petroleum Development), join our hearts in commiserating with the family of Late High Chief (Dr) Olu Benson Lulu-Briggs (OON).
Until his death, Chief, as we fondly call him was the founder and Executive Chairman of Moni Pulo Ltd (Petroleum Development).
In his lifetime and periods, we at various times shared with him, he was like a father to all; he cared for our welfare, always available to solve whatever individual personal problems he knew of, ensuring that everyone within his work family was happy. He imparted in us discipline, team spirit and purposeful hardwork, which has helped us in all our present endeavors. His fear of God and philanthropy knew no bounds and was legendary within and outside Nigeria.
He was deeply committed to the work of Christian Evangelism within and beyond Rivers State. Not only spreading the WORD but feeding the hungry.
To his wife and children we say, may the good Lord give you all the fortitude to bear this great loss.
May His Soul Rest in the bosom Of our Lord Jesus Christ.

He had so much passion for his company Monipulo which showed, as he would personally visit our office to ensure all issues concerning Monipulo were resolved promptly.
Chief was a good man, a wonderful host, an eloquent speaker, highly respected, kind and God fearing and was a great philanthropist. He was one of the pioneers of indigenisation in the Nigerian oil industry.
He will be greatly missed.
May God grant his family and his wife fortitude during this trying period.

You chose to leave when I least expect after surviving all the threats. You took me as an equal whilst being a play ful young lady representing my company . Your family adopted me as part of it. Your giving humble, honest, persona will always be remembered. You made an impact in my life by just being you. Your wife, my sister and friend will always be in my life. You will always be in my heart as you said a lot of words without saying them as your expression sometimes was all I needed to read to feel what you are feeling. May your wonderful soul Rest In Peace you traversed your life journey with grace and touched plenty people in it . Your legacy should leave forever, from humble backgroung to greater heights whilst fully embracing your background. Rest In Peace My Chief
I learnt a lot from u...
I know u are in a very glorious place, a place I look forward to, HEAVEN.
Ur greatness was in ur humility and the love for the propagation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
U were a good man, my father and my friend.
I won't let u down...I will make u proud.
I will see u again of that am sure.
When the imaginary that Opuda is no more comes on, I tend to ask;
Why would death take away our King at a time when his Kingdom needs him?
Why would death take away our Chief Servant when his Subjects need him?
Why would death take away our Shepherd from his Flocks at the height of winds and storms?
Why would death take away a great leader from his people when they see no successor near to lead?
Why would death take away our Father from his Family when we have barely learnt a little to uphold the values and benevolence he hath shown?
Oh death, how cruel and impulsive you are!
No man can ever question God. However, these questions and many more pop out as I reminisce moments with you. I could only rest my case and key my conscience to the fact that you are the Abraham of our generation.
As the song writer would rightly put it, “Fading away like the Stars of the Morning… Only remembered by the works we have done…” We shall continue to remember you for your gifts, love for your Kingdom, State and entire Humanity, your act of benevolence and Godly living.
Opuda, the love for one another and act of benevolence which you had taught us that we are already practicing, shall go from us onto our generations yet unborn. Above all, the fear of God that you bestowed, shall be an indelible part of our lives.
Saying “Farewell” is most difficult now. Howbeit, we would, with the consolation that you have gone to be with your maker to rest eternally from the worries of this world.
Sleep On, Opuda!!!

TRIBUTE TO
HIGH CHIEF (DR) OLU BENSON LULU-BRIGGS, OON, DCF, DSSRS
(1930-2018)
I first heard of High Chief O. B. Lulu-Briggs in the late 1970s and early 1980s when he was (I believe) National Vice Chairman of the National Party of Nigeria (NPN). Later, I became aware of his construction, hospitality, and oil exploration businesses which provided gainful employment for Nigerians and expatriates. I even had the pleasure of physical proximity to him when he lived on Igbodo Street, old GRA, Port Harcourt, Nigeria where my parents also resided at the time.
I became a “member of his family” when his “help meet” Pastor (Dr., Mrs.) Seinye O.B. Lulu Briggs first engaged me in December 2007 to anchor the family Christmas Cantata at Onubio, Abonnema. That experience started the incremental, progressive revelation to me of the extent of the business of philanthropy the family was engaged in, principally through the O. B. Lulu-Briggs Foundation, a formal platform for the organized and structured approach to the business of service to humanity. His philanthropic activities were still carried on informally, through personal, unannounced, good deeds, including surgery to correct a spinal disorder in America for the child of my friend!
High Chief O. B. Lulu-Briggs did not neglect his Christian faith. Indeed, his contributions to evangelizing the world earned him the appellation “Defender of the Christian Faith (DCF)”.
We have lost to heaven, a former public servant; an astute politician; an entrepreneur and employer of labour; a defender of the Christian faith; a man honoured and decorated by country, state and community; a beacon of hope, a model and socio-economic influencer. We believe God will maintain his legacies through his family and the other structures he established.
May God grant his wife Seinye, his children and grandchildren, the staff of his business empire, the Kalabari Kingdom, and the world at large, the equanimity to praise God for the life of High Chief (Dr.) Olu Benson Lulu-Briggs, OON, DCF, DSSRS. Amen!
Karibi T. George
Sgd.
Dear father- the father of the downtrodden; father of the impecunious, indigent in the society. Big Daddy; I had the opportunity of serving you and felt your kindness, goodness and philanthropic enterprise that you showed to all NIGERIANS, even those in the diaspora.
BIG DADDY, you left us when we needed you most. I know, a thousand word won't bring you back; neither will a thousand tears.
The unbearable pains of your departure cannot be erased from minds particularly your wife and best friend (our mother) Dr.(Mrs.) SEINYE. O. B.LULU-BRIGGS. May God continue to strengthen her to bear the irreplaceable and irreparable loss. Amen.
BIG DADDY. Indeed, you will be remembered forever.
Chief. O.B.LULU-BRIGGS (OON). May your gentle soul rest in peace.
(OKPORO BINOYE)
You were a Father, mentor and role model to many. We cherish the memory of the times we interacted closely with you. You touched our world so positively and you blessed the lives of multitudes. We thank God for the exemplary life you lived here on Earth and pray that the Lord will grant your soul eternal rest in heaven. Amen. Our thoughts and prayers are with Alabota (Chief) Seinye O. B. Lulu-Briggs and the entire O. B. Lulu-Briggs family. May God Almighty comfort and strengthen you all.
Chief & Mrs. Deinabo C. T. Horsfall
The bell has yet tolls once again,
The singers render the farewell benediction,
The pastor conduct the obsequies rituals
Signifying the departure of the body’s guest
Of one greatly great and greatest of all,
While mother EARTH awaits her sumptuous feast.
Fashioned eight decades and eight ago,
Looks seemingly young in age,
Yet great in deeds and in frame of mind
Like Solomon in the golden might
Yet faded so soon like the stars of the morning.
The greatest of a mentor ever known
The anchor of my purest though, the nurse
The guide, the guardian of my heart and
Soul of my moral being,
Though death shall continue to hunt my ego.
A devotee of exemplary note
Born to lead as he’s wont to doth
Service to humanity his pleasure lies
Peculiar and distinct in the realm of love
Esteem by all yet humblest of the low
Yet gone too soon like a candle fast burnt.
The bird’s scurries back into their nets,
The mosquitoes buzz with renewed vengeance,
While the fishes all at the banks appear
For nature to them is all in all
Grieving and wailing they doth like men
For the passage of a gem and a father to all.
A trauma and sad perplexity that pains and jolts
Solace we will take for a life well lived
Of his substance garland we will bind
To balm our searing soul from tears and pains.
Seinye and Senibo grief ye not
Dumo, Ibifiri, Solate, Rachael, Dateim and Iyowuna sob no more
Friend, brothers, sisters and all do mourn not in vain
For He that giveth had taketh back again
Remember ye all his omniscience injunction
To give him glory in Birth and in Death.
Though His bosom your abode doth live
Though helpless and hopeless we are in death
Since the death remedied is none
Best is that we for death dispone
After our death that live may we:-
Adieu! Adieu!! Adieu!!! OPUDA by Chief Daerego Clifford JP
My greatest benefactor. The story of my life, my success can not be written without the name of Chief O. B. Lulu-Briggs (OPUDA meaning Big Father) being mentioned. I had known him as far back as 1989 when I was barely 6years old, back then I'd follow my dad Late Renner Robinson Briggs to his office at #1 Harbour Road, Port Harcourt, where First Bank is currently situated, the next building is Rachael Hotel back then it was still under construction, OPUDA will usually send for me or come and pick me from my Dad's office himself, and return me when he closes, I had fond memories of him then. We lost contact for almost 10years until my Dad died in 1999, OPUDA ordered Rachael Hotel to bring food for us at home twice a day for almost 3months. In 2002, I went to see him at Moni Pulo when they were still at Harbour Road,to show him my JAMB and WAEC results and that was how OPUDA gave me scholarship to study Medicine and Surgery at the University of Port Harcourt. Today I am a Medical Doctor because he gave me an opportunity to be educated, for every life I have saved and will continue to save OPUDA received and will continue to receive diamonds on his crown of glory even in Heaven. A man whose compassion and benevolence is second to none. Very humble and meek in all his deeds, relates with all class of people irrespective of their social strata. He was a great disciplinarian... One day I went to his office, greeted him and just sat down on the chair, he immediately ordered me to stand up and asked me " have I asked you to sit down? You don't sit until you are offered a sit next time". I sweated to my pants that day.
To live in the hearts of mortals is to be immortal. For me the day OPUDA died was the day he was born to immortality.
OPUDA is no more with us in flesh but he has planted his seeds of kindness, love, compassion, charity and benevolence in many including me, we must let these seeds grow and water others as we have been watered, bless others as we have been blessed, do charity as it has been done unto us, if we all do these then OPUDA will never truly die, because he'd be living in and through us. To this Noble cause I pledge my energy, expertise and resources as God shall provide.
ADIEU OPUDA... You have laboured, Rest you must now.
Dr. Bieye Renner Briggs (MBBS,MPH)
The news of your passing was a big shock, and my first thought was 'how will your dear wife cope without you by her side?'! Then I remembered how strong she is in her FAITH in God...
Now, you're resting in the arms of your Father and your beautiful legacy on earth, will never die!!!
The Holy Spirit will continue to comfort us, meanwhile, sleep on till we all meet to part no more...Opuda lives on forever in our hearts and lives!!!
Adesuwa Ike and family
Thank God, we as a family have been personally blessed by Big Daddy and his lovely wife Seinye Lulu-Briggs. Their generosity, love and kindness has proven that to us that the love of God has truly been embodied in human beings. We wish that the world could have a glimpse of all that God has used High Chief O.B. Lulu-Briggs and Seinye Lulu-Briggs to do. He will be sorely missed as a beacon to the community and embodiment of Godliness as a Nigerian. Rest in Christ Big Daddy.
With our love and encouragement for Seinye O.B. Lulu-Briggs, his children, grand-children, siblings and family members.
Mr. & Mrs. CJ Bedell and Family.
Above all, he invested part of his wealth in the works of Christian Evangelism, winning souls into God's Kingdom.
As you lay down in your final rest Chief, may our good God remember the good works you did for Him as His worthy ambassador on this earth.
Rest in Peace
Mr. & Mrs. Abiona Usikalu
Opuda as we fondly called you; the Oruwari-Briggs War Canoe House will forever miss you. The vacuum you left will be hard to fill; your love for the Oruwari Briggs War Canoe House is inestimable. Generations of the GREAT BRIGGS House will forever remember and celebrate you in life. You have positively touched many lives. You built homes for the homeless, you employed the unemployed without rigorous employment procedures, you care for the elderly, you reached the unreached etc. Opuda! your good deeds are inestimable.
Opuda you are truly a humanitarian Par Excellence, I remember my first direct encounter with you in the year 2006 when my brothers and I visited you on one faithful Sunday morning at your residence, 17 Ogbodo Street, Old GRA, Port Harcourt. When you heard our names you ask the security men at the gate to immediately let us in and you attended to our needs wholeheartedly. Opuda! I also remember how excited you were when you learnt that we are all potential engineers as at then (Mechanical, Electrical and Civil) and you were very pleased to have us as future Engineers for the Briggs family.
We requested for 6 months industrial training placement in your establishment (Moni Paulo) but you gave us more than what we requested. You instantly approved our I.T placement with an annual scholarship for the rest of our schooling which is 200% more than what multinational Companies offers to their beneficiaries.
With the help of your unalloyed benevolence, I have fulfilled part of your wish for us your children and promised to continue to strive to make you proud.
I am writing this eulogy with heavy heart, but in all I give thanks to God Almighty because you lived a fulfilled life.
OPUDA! I love you wholeheartedly
OPUDA! You have gone to be with the Lord but your legacy will live forever
OPUDA! Dein Na Mu
Ipalibo I. Briggs
I and my family received the news of your passing with surprise. We knew you were travelling to spend the festive season with your family. The Almighty chose to call you home and thereby deprived us of your revered philanthropy.Your legacies will live on and be pursued in your memory to the glory of the Almighty.Your beloved wife, your family and friends shall keep the flag flying in your dear memory. Rest peacefully my dear Opuda.
O.B Lulu-Briggs was not my father but he definitely acted like
one,
There are so many people that I've met outside and have told
me what this same man has done not just for themselves, but
for a lot of people. In life there are people who forget those
that really cared for them one way or the other and are gone
due to circumstances, but I will never forget you; oh, not ever.
I will never forget anything about you, I will always tell others
the things you have done for me and many others. NEVER.
If dreams weren't dreams and dreams came true,
I wouldn't be here; I'd be with you. I'll always visit you in my
dreams
Distance is one thing that keeps us apart,
But, Chief O.B Lulu-Briggs, you will always remain in my
heart.
A special smile, a special face,
A special someone I can't replace,
I love you and I always will.
You filled a space in the hearts of many.
May your soul rest in tremendous peace.

There are so many people that I've met outside and have told
me what this same man has done not just for themselves, but for a lot of people.
From Frank Add

K'omesia!
Physically you may not be here anymore to see and be seen, but in our hearts you live on! Today would have been a celebration of your many colours as we would have gathered to say warmth birthday wishes and prayers to you but in all, we say thanks to God and may you continue to rest with the Lord as you live on in our hearts.

Time Flies...
I do not wail like a hopeless person. As a humble child of God, I am comforted by the fact that I will see him again on resurrection day. Sleep on my beloved while your legacy lives on. Glory be to God Almighty who has made life not just bearable, despite wicked and vicious attacks, but victorious, joyful and successful on all sides, by His precious grace. Abundant life remains my portion in the name of Jesus Christ. The Lord is great, mighty and powerful. Blessed be His name forever. Hallelujah!

Legends Live Forever
Your name is synonymous with charity and landmark acts of philanthropy, creating a niche for you that is outliving your physical presence with us. This is the real essence of living; touching lives and bequeathing a template of unblemished service to humanity worthy of emulation to the rest of us.
This is the true stuff of legends. It is why people like you live forever.
Tribute to a rare father and philanthropist. High chief (Dr.) Olu Benson Lulu-Briggs,OON, DCF, DSS.
The sad news of your demise is too bitter a pill to swallow.
Big daddy, you affected lives in ways only GOD could have inspired. I am a beneficiary of your selfless service of love to humanity...
My encounter with you is an experience I can't forget. In 2007 my grandfather Late Elder Elijah Kio-Lawson told you about my health condition scoliosis (deformation of the spine). You responded immediately and called someone to take me to the O.B Lulu-Briggs foundation hospital. Investigation began and there was no cure in Nigeria, you flew me to America for a corrective spinal instrumentation surgery which was a huge success and am alive today.
You do all these life transforming things for countless people all around the world unannounced. Today am a wife and mother because of your selfless love for humanity.
Your amazing wife our dear mother Dr (Mrs.) Seinye Lulu-Briggs GOD Bless you more Ma for all your care and support throughout my surgery. May GOD help and comfort you Ma in this period.
Adieu Big Daddy! Your legacy lives in us!
