Puddin
September 25, 2023
Today is Holden’s would be 19th birthday. Yesterday our cat went missing. The story of Puddin is one I want to share as it’s meaningful to our family. It was a cold blizzardy December about 9 years ago. Holden was in math tutoring at Mathnasium across the city from where we lived. He missed his regular day so this was a make up day, a Friday. We got there to discover that they were closed on Friday. To feel like the trip wasn’t wasted, I asked Holden if he wanted to go to Petland. So we went, it was pretty empty there, we were looking at the cats in the window boxes and I was looking at this sad scruffy looking tuxedo cat when a worker asked me if I wanted to hold him and I immediately said yes. Well that cat stayed in my arms not moving for 1/2 hour. He was so sweet and loving that Holden asked if we could keep him. I wanted to and he was even on sale for $20 because he wasn’t a kitten. So we texted Colin and asked if we could buy him, sent him a picture to which he responded “he looks mean and bitchy”. Despite the comment he agreed and the rest is history. We miss you so much Holden and Puddin. Today is a hard day
