Bro. Homer Lee Pye was born March 14, 1943 in Woodland, Georgia to the late Bennie Pye Sr. and Willie Lue Harris Pye. 

He has one brother who preceded him in death, Paul Curtis Pye.

He joined the Friendship Missionary Baptist Church at an early age under the leadership or Rev. J. E. Sparks.  He attended Ruth Carter High School in Talbotton, Georgia.  After school he moved to Detroit Michigan where he lived a number of years.  He worked for Ford Motor Company for a while, later he return to his hometown of Woodland, Georgia in year 2008, where he and his sister Annie G. Bailey lived until his passing on Monday, December 10, 2012.

He leaves to cherish his memories, three sisters:  Essie McCrary (Rev. Alfred McCrary) of Woodland, GA, Minnie Taylor of Richmond, VA and Annie Grace Bailey of Woodland, GA; three brothers, Bennie Pye Jr. (Emogene) of Troy, MI, Rosevelt Pye of Richmond, VA and John Pye (Gloria) of Richmond, VA; one uncle, Mr. Leroy Williams of Americus, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
