His Life
January 22, 2014

Mr. McClendon was born in Newnan, Georgia on May 18, 1950, the son of the late Dorothy Rae Smith McClendon and Jessie Allen McClendon. He was a Christian by faith. All who knew him would tell you that there was very little he could not do if he set his mind to it. This quality, along with his tremendous work ethic made him a favorite of all with whom he worked. Throughout his lifetime he had worked in several different jobs. This afforded him an opportunity to see different parts of the county, which he loved. He married the love of his life, Brenda Jane Stringfellow when he was only sixteen years old and they raised a wonderful family. Their devotions to each other carried them through forty-six years of marriage. Mr. Howard was never idle for many minutes, but when he was he loved to find his way to the nearest pond to fish. His children adored him for his great patience with them and his desire to care for and provide for them. He will long be remembered by all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife, Brenda McClendon of Franklin, GA.; one daughter, Shena Hereld also of Franklin, GA.; four sons, Randy McClendon of Newnan, GA., Walter McClendon, Jr. Newnan, GA., Jeff McClendon of Hampton, GA., and Wayne McClendon, also of Newnan, GA.; one sister, Linda Reed of Franklin, GA.; and two brothers, Robert and Charles McClendon both of Newnan, GA…
