Dr. Ugbam! My warm, amiable, cheerful uncle! I have fond childhood memories of time spent with you, my Aunty, and my cousins, in your house in New Haven, Enugu. There was no distinction between your children and your nephews/niece (me). We climbed and crawled all over you because your warm smile and inviting personality was so welcoming. Every time I met you through the years, it was the sane encounter( minus crawling on you). Your smile and warm personality never waned.
Although its been years you and I had any direct communication, the news of your transition hit me hard! I literally felt the wind knocked out of me, and had to hold on to my kitchen counter! What a blow! And then I thought, how are my cousins, your children feeling, if I'm feeling this way? Sigh! Daddy Ugbam, you left a great legacy behind and I pray we make your memory proud! You are resting now, no more pains, no more tears, no ailments, just peace and joy. Rest on Sir, till we all meet in heaven!
