Grandpa will be with us in our memories forever. He taught my father to always work very hard and to stay strong when encountering any obstacles. My father passed this lesson on to me, and I am very grateful to my Grandpa for teaching my father this wonderful lesson.

Granpda was an excellent husband, father, and grandfather. He was a family man, and he took exceptional care of his family, always working hard to make sure his family was happy. Grandpa was a very strong person, and I always admired him for his strength. We all loved him very much and he will be missed.

When I was 3 while he lived with us briefly, my grandpa & grandma each held my hand and walked me to the store. Hand in hand, my arms barely reached theirs. Grandpa loved gardening and we ate grapefruits he grew. Grandpa, my father’s father, taught us precious lessons of family, hard work, education. I will always miss & love him. I will share grandpa’s legacy with future Tuan generations.

Gardening

September 18, 2013

One of Grandpa's favorite hobbies was gardening. He grew a very nice garden in my Uncle's backyard with beautiful plants and delicious fruits. Grandpa enjoyed explaining to us the different types of fruits and plants that he grew. I really enjoyed hearing Grandpa tell us about his garden, because you could see the joy in his eyes and hear it in his voice too, his love for gardening. I loved to eat the delicious grapefruits from the tall grapefruit tree that he grew, and I enjoyed looking at the beautiful plants.

Go Game Guru

September 11, 2013

My father has a remarkable talent for the centuries-old game known as Go.  (Chinese: 圍棋 wéiqí).

He was so devoted to playing the Go Games that he would skip meals to complete the games, and sometimes I had to go to other faculty members homes to find my father and asked him to go home for dinners.

When he had business trips to Taipei, he loved to go to the Go Game Club by New Park (台北
台湾新公园) to play or watch other professionals play Go games.

Because he was so good at playing Go games, he won most of the times. As a result, he had to play the Go Game by himself.
