Ichie Ezekegwe! I, your wife, remember that you were a man when men were men. Death has no iota of fear otherwise I wonder how it would have been booted out of your way. But since you had the grace to have old, young and even babies to mourn you I join hands with those who understand to thank God for a life well spent. To those with heavy heart, may I ask that thanks should be given to God instead.

To the entire Ichie Ekegwu children. May the good Lord give all of you the heart and strength to mourn the loss of your father who has protected all of you even onto his death. May his Legacy of peace and braveness persist even as you prepared for his final rites. Adieu Akunne!!!

Gran Pa. All the time you call me your little angel on the phone, I was planning to dance for you this December. The bad news of your passing away made me to cry because everybody was crying. Gran Pa. I cried very hard when I heard the bad news of your passing away. I don’t understand that am not going to see you again in my life. I was thinking of how you will take me to the village square this December, now it is not going to happen. I feel so bad. Gran Pa, I love you but God loves you most. Rest in perfect peace. Ichie Akunne, Your death was shocking to me because I am longing to seeing your ever smiling face this December. My only consolation is that He that loved you most took you peacefully from us. I know that one day we will meet to part no more. Stay cool in the bossom of the Lord. Requiescat in pace. Ify Bernard Anyaeji USA.

Ichie Akunne, Rest in the bossom of the Lord where we hope to meet again and part no more. Your living memory is still vivid in my mind when your son, Frank got wedded to my spiritual daughter Uchenna Ilonze, nee Anyaeji. I prayed and celebrated masses for your recovery from sickness but little did I know that the end was near. Those prayers and current ones will follow you into paradise. To the Ilonzo family, home and abroad, my sympathy and condolences. Fr. Clement, Pittsburgh

Ichie Akunne, this is your daughter you've never met, uche and I were making plans of coming home to Nigeria with d kids for Christmas, we wanted to turn your house in Aba into a play ground, we wanted to hang around with you, we couldn't wait to break away from d stressful work life in d State here, but above all d kids couldn't wait to meet grandpa to catch up with all d years they've missed becos of distance. Death is mysterious, but it's d only way we see God. Ichie Akunne, you've done your part, d journey is come to an end, the ashes has been traded in for eternal beauty. May Angelic Peace be yours, May heaven welcomes you. Udo ! Udo !! Blessing Ume, State of New Jersey. Uche & Frank's sweetheart

Ichie Eze-Ekegwu, Your death came as a shock to me after your brief illness. My husband and I were getting your documents ready for medical treatment in US. Little did we know that the time has come for you to answer to the Almighty. Although I missed the opportunity to nurse and care for you but the care of the Almighty surpasses all cares. Your legacy, your words of advice, your advocacy for me, and your unforgettable calls to my family will create everlasting memory in our hearts. Grandpa as my kids call you, Akunne as I call you, and Ichie as my husband calls you, you will always be remembered!!! Rest in the bosom of the Almighty. Uchenna Anyaeji-Ilonze Daughter-in-law
