Mrs. Ida Mae Gilmore was born January 1,1938 in Elmore County, Alabama to the late Chester Lovejoy and Essie L. Ballard.

At a very young age she joined Ridge Grove Baptist Church of  Alexander City, Alabama. Later she moved her membership to Mt. Calvary Baptist Church and later moved to Miracle Baptist Church under the Pastorate of Rev. Eddie Hunter. She served in this church many years.

She retired from Russell Mills of Alexander City, Alabama and was loved by her co-workers.

Sunset came to her on Sunday, August 9, 2015 at Chapman
Nursing Home Facility in Alexander City, Alabama. Her sleepless night
and days of pain are past.

She leaves to cherish her memories: a husband, Rev. Walter
Gilmore, Sr. of Alexander City, Alabama; one sister, Cassie Hargroe of
Dayton, Ohio; ten children, Walter Gilmore, Jr. (Paralee) of Birmingham,
Alabama; the late Willie Gilmore of Alexander City, Alabama, Anita G.
Crowe (Eddie) of Sylacauga, Alabama, Danny T. Gilmore of Alexander
City, Alabama, Gregory W. Gilmore (Pamela) of Kaleen, Texas, Reginald
B. Gilmore of Columbus, Georgia, Harrison S. Gilmore of Alexander City,
Alabama, Robert D. Gilmore (Felicia), the late Katrina E. Gilmore of
Alexander City, Alabama, Melony Gross of Alexander City, Alabama; 95
grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great great- grandchildren; one
special aunt, Zerneverness Peppers of Dayton, Ohio; a host of nieces,
nephews, and relatives; care-taker, Junita McElrath; Marshall Jones, a close
cousin; Ms. Annie Herron, special sister, Catherine Owens.
