Lou Gehrig's disease

May 20, 2015
Lou Gehrig's disease is what took her from us. She was a grandmother, mother, sister, best friend, dedicated Catholic, volunteer, and my best friend. She was my second mother and basically raised me and my sister. She was a proud Italian woman. She loved everyone who came her way and would give the clothes off her back to them. She volunteered at our Catholic Church, St. Roch's and gave everything to the kids she taught there.  Her two granddaughters met the world to her and she gave her heart and soul to them and probably lived longer not wanting to leave them. She loved cooking and baking. She had Lou Gehrig's disease and "faught the good fight." She showed me that if she could go through what she had with this disease I can be strong and fight too. I wrote a poem along time ago titled "You Left Us On Decemeber Second but Our Love For You Has Never Lessened." My love has grown for her even more everyday.
