 Obituary

Ida Mae Bookout, age 87, Springfield, left this world Thursday night May 12, 2016 to join the lord, family and friends. She was born in Carroll County, at Green Forest Arkansas on July 21, 1928. She was second to the youngest of eight children to John and Martha Frazier, all of whom have preceded her in death. Married to Manford Bookout (Bud) August 27, 1949 for 43 loving years until his passing in 1992.

Ida lived her life with love of family and friends. She is survived by her three children and their spouses: Linda (Mitchell) and Larry Kerwood of Rockledge, FL.; David and Patty Bookout of Springfield, MO and Conetta and Thom Taylor of Nixa, MO.; Three granddaughters: Angela, Kathy and Kris; Two grandsons: Kevin and Keith; Four Great-granddaughters; One Great-grandson and two great-great-grandsons. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews of whom so enjoyed their presence in her life.

She retired from Skaggs Hospital, Branson, MO in 1993 as Supervisor of the Laundry Dept. She had a delightfulness and thoughtful heart that attracts friends in which she has always been grateful for their presence, humor and closeness. Growing up through the depression era she was a hard worker and enjoyed her retirement. An avid reader of many genres she also enjoyed word puzzles, mysteries and suspense, and her little dog, too.

Thom & Conetta,
It was good to see so many people were able to attend on such a rainy day and a week day.
The Funeral Service was wonderful. Sue did her usual excellent service from singing the opening with Amazing Grace, to mentioning comments from I believe everyone in the family that was there.
Ida Mae I’m sure was also pleased as she looked down from above.
Conetta, you and Thom were a comfort to her knowing you were close by and that you were always there in her times of need to care for her or get her to the doctors.
She can now rest in peace
