His Life

The life of a great man...

December 15, 2011

Joseph Sano Sr- 84, of Little Egg Harbor, NJ  passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, November 1st 2011 after a long battle with cancer. With his loving wife Doris by his bedside, he tragically drew his last breath.

Originally born in Staten Island, New York, Joseph lived there most of his life before relocating to LEH in 1994. He was a proud U.S Navy veteran and split his career between the New York City Department of Sanitation and the Westinghouse Elevator company for 20 years. After retiring Joseph spent his days crabbing/fishing, being with his family, and he also enjoyed cooking. Joseph was never one to complain, and he always maintained the dynamic of a hard worker. In essence this was a man who radiated love and made people smile simply by being in the room. At times his grandchildren fondly referred to him as ‘Superman’ because to them he could do anything.

Joseph was predeceased by his son in-law Vincent Glenn Paul, brother Dominick and sister Edith. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Doris, son Joseph Jr and his wife Diane, daughter Barbara Paul-Kager and her husband John, his four beloved grandchildren Sabrina and her husband Doel, Christopher and his wife Allison, Lisa, Valerie and his two adoring great-grandchildren Jessica and Christopher Jr. Joseph also leaves behind four sisters, two brothers, and many nieces and nephews who adored him.

His sister Mary said it best…“If love was enough to save him, he would have lived forever!”
