Schearer, Inez “Sue” (nee Dougherty), 77, of Blackwood, NJ passed away on October 1, 2021. Beloved wife of the late Ronald Schearer and loving mother of the late Colleen Schearer.
Sue was born in Philadelphia to Edward and Inez (Desiderio) Dougherty and grew up in Middletown, PA. Sue graduated from Bishop McDevitt High School (’62), Holy Family College (’66) and went on to study at the Sorbonne in Paris and received a master’s degree from Catholic University (’68). Sue loved reading, music, travel and entertaining family and friends. Sue was a kind and caring person dedicated to teaching children. Her love of children and of teaching led her and her late husband to open a pre-school in the early 90’s, which she continued to run until her death.
Sue is survived by brothers Joseph, Edward, Dennis (Tracy), Larry (Jean), Stephen (Theresa), sister Mary (Glen) Buckle and stepson William Schearer.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass on October 15th at 11am at St. Agnes Church, Coles Road and Little Gloucester Road, Blackwood NJ. Visitation will be prior to the Mass from 10-11am.
Interment private at the convenience of the family.
