Irene Hart Gresham, Oxford, NC, passed away peacefully on January 5, 2019 at her home. She was the daughter of Joseph (Buck) and Lula B Hart. She was predeceased by her husband of 63 years, George S Gresham. Irene was a retired CNA and homemaker. Her greatest joys were her grandchildren and she made many memories with all of them. 

She is survived by her four children, Nancy G Philpott of Martinsville, VA; Christopher Gresham (Cathy); Carolyn G Morford (Craig); and Connie G Adcock (David) all of Oxford. Nine grandchildren, Tony Beal (Amy) of Martinsville, VA; Shannon Newman (Eddie) of Spencer, VA; Tonya Pendergrass (Tony) of Franklinton; Kimberly Jackson (Wayne); Michael Gresham (Chrissy); Chad Wilkins (Chrissy); Brent Adcock all of Oxford. Andrew Adcock (Brittany)of Kittrell; and Joel Adcock (Allie) of Waterloo, IL: 23 great grandchildren, and 8 great-great grandchildren. Caregivers were Leighanne Stovall, Stephanie Timberlake, Mary Fortner and Thelma Hill. 

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, January 7, 2019 at Peace’s Chapel Baptist Church by Rev. Bruce Brooks.  Burial will be in the Church Cemetery.  Visitation will be at Peace’s Chapel prior to the service from 12:30 – 2:00 PM and other times at the home.
