Mrs. Helen Irene Newman Lane, age 88 of Franklin, Georgia passed away on Saturday, March 21, 2015 at the Piedmont-Newnan Hospital in Newnan, Georgia. 

Funeral services for Mrs. Lane were conducted on Tuesday, March 24, 2015, at 2:00 P.M. from the Stutts Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Danny Spencer officiating. Music was provided by her niece Yvonne. Those serving as pallbearers were Tom Lane Parks Land, Robby Lane, Charles Lane, Andy Wilbur, and Pete Turner. Honorary pallbearers were Johnnie Land and Russell Hannah. The interment followed in the Franklin City Cemetery.

My childhood and adult life would have been very different without Aunt Irene and her family in it. One of the legendary 'Newman Girls', she was a hard worker, both at home and in the field of medicine she loved. Nothing made her happier than to tell everyone about her children and her grandchildren. She will be sorely missed.
