A native of Philadelphia, PA she was the daughter of the late Phillip and Ella Banks Robinson. A home-maker, she was a member of Holsey Chapel C.M.E. Church and was currently attending Spirit Filled Ministries. She was a member of the Bronze Jets Traveling Club.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Thompson and seven siblings.

Surviving are four sons, Bruce E. Thompson(Bernadette), Mark A. Thompson(Benitha), Richard E. Thompson(Cyndia) and Gary A. Thompson(Angela); nine grandchildren, Mikel B. Thompson, Monica B. Thompson, Chantel N. Thompson, Jason E. Thompson, Anitra Thompson, Alicia Thompson, Corissa Chang, Kyle Thompson and Erik Thompson; two great grandchildren, Javon E. Thompson and Maleek E. Rodgers; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
