I grew up at Soleye Crescent in the early 1960s with the Bajomos at number 16. Everyone from number 1 to 18 knew about or of each other. The Bajomos were a comparatively young family.

I grew close to Pa M I Bajomo when I moved into the house after my mother passed on. I began to attend the Soleye, Ayinde Giwa and Mbonu Ojike Residents' Association. He, Mr Gbajabiamila and Chairman Alhaji Yesufu were almost always present at the monthly meets. They served as a lead to newcomers like me and a bridge to all the good works done in the past.

Pa Bajomo was like a father to me. Always approachable, unfailingly polite, consistently considerate. He gave advice even when I became Chairman and supported all our initiatives financially - extra money forthe security operatives, sand to fill up the field, funds for installing and housing the transformer, funds to construct a reinforced security house at the Mbonu Ojike gate etc.

He was an enthusiastic participant in the monthly fitness classes led by an accredited coach, showing some younger folks how it should be done.

My sincere sympathies go to his wife, Aunty Itunu, and all of the children and grandchildren. May the Eternal God bind you all together in love and unity. I pray that the Ever Living One will receive all the good works of Mr Morakinyo Isaac Bajomo as a sweet smelling fragrance. May the memory of their husband, father and great grandfather ever remain sweet to all of the family.
