Sheila was born Aug. 13, 1950, in Decatur to Charles and Ardith (Deman) Tenney. Sheila graduated from Decatur High School in 1969. She married Iver Beckstrom on March 1, 1969, in Decatur. They lived at Bertha and had four children. She worked as a farmwife and certified nurse aide at local nursing homes.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, American Legion Auxiliary, Election Committee member, and local extension clubs throughout the years.

Survivors include: her husband, Iver; father since 1968, Kenneth Gill of Decatur; four children, Jeff Beckstrom of Craig, Marcia (Robby) Pickell of Decatur, Jill (Lael) Holliday of Malcolm and Dale (Kim) Beckstrom of Uehling; brother, Ron (Marilyn) Tenney of Lyons; sisters, Marlys (Carl) Raue of Decatur, Beth (Mark) Renshaw of Tekamah and Carol ( Rich) Lutz of Hadar; and four grandchildren
