A TRIBUTE IN HONOR OF MRS. IYABO THERESA FADERO

March 16, 2016

A TRIBUTE IN HONOR OF MRS. IYABO THERESA FADERO

Mrs. Iyabo Theresa Fadero was a two-term President of Africas’ Daughters International (ADI). ADI was a philanthropic not-for profit organization based in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria. Membership was drawn from all over the world provided you were of African descent. The first President was Dr. Gloria Roberts, from the United States of America (USA) and a former lecturer at the University of Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria. ADI took care of the less privileged in the society. It offered many scholarships to the indigent students.

During her leadership of ADI, Iyabo Fadero (Sisi Iyabo) as members fondly called her, made important contributions to the development and progress of the organization. She was a peacemaker. She worked tirelessly, with members of ADI, to give hope to many who lived in despair and wiped away tears from the faces of many who were in pain.

Mrs. Iyabo Fadero was a great educationist. She taught in many places, including the College of Education, Port Harcourt, before establishing her own school from Kindergarten to Secondary School, known as Tessy International School, Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria.  She was also the MD of the famous Tessy Book World.

Sisi Iyabo will be greatly missed by many of the people who knew her. May the Almighty God grant her eternal rest. May He also give her dear husband, children and grandchildren the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.
