A Time To Remember: When we think of JD (Big Daddy) as all the grand children called him. There are many fond memories come to mind. His words of wisdom and his sharp thinking made him a clever man. He was a farmer from his heart. He planted and grew all kinds’ of vegetables. He was called the (butter bean man). He was an entrepreneur shuttle/taxi services, pulp wood company also, superintendent construction workers of schools and apartment. He has lent a helping hand to many people in need.

A Time To Die: On Saturday April 19, 2014, God embraced JD in his arm and enfolded him in his love for a peaceful journey home. Loving memories will forever linger into hearts, mind, and soul of his lovely wife Rosa, of seventy five years; his children, Hattie (Herman) Green of Atlanta, Georgia, Eugene (Sylver) Godfrey of Senoia, Georgia, Ermogene (Raymond) Sinkfield, and JoAnn Clark Blakely of Lithonia, Georgia; eighteen grandchildren, twenty-eight great grandchildren and five great, great grandchildren; three sisters-in-law; Maggie Samuels of Gay Georgia, Beatrice Godfrey of Greenville, Georgia, Velma Godfrey of Luthersville Georgia; and a host of nieces and nephews.
