This memorial website was created in memory of Jaswantsingh Sachdev, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend to so many. He passed away on May 12th due to natural causes.

He immigrated to the USA in the late 1950s to pursue his Masters in Civil Engineering.  He settled in California, raised a family, and became a prominent member of the Sikh community. He was a founding member of the El Sobrante Sikh Gurdwara. He and his wife became the proprietor of a successful business for over 45 years.

He is survived by his loving wife, Rama, of 58 years.  He had five children and four grandchildren.

He will be remembered for his tenacity, spirit, and devotion to tradition and family.

A private service and prayer has already taken place.  Please respect the family's privacy and safety at this time.  Please share your condolence note below and it will be shared with Rama.

Due to the shelter in place, a memorial service will be held at a future date.

Even after 34 years, I can still remember the day that Jaswant Uncle and Kirpal uncle showed up at our door step in Vancouver.  It is strange that some moments stay with you because it makes such an impression on you.  My mom was a single mom raising 2 kids in a country that was not her home but she was there to give her kids a better future, and when her 2 brothers showed up at our doorstep and gave us a surprise visit, it made my Mom the happiest person on that day. She never forgot that and neither have I. Every time we met  after that, though not frequent, you always met me with such warmth and genuine love. Will always remember that about you Jaswant uncle.

  • We have been privileged to have had Sach as a wonderful neighbor and friend for over 40 years. We will think of him at our front door bringing fruits and vegetables from his garden to share with us. We are blessed to have the memories of his children growing up with ours. May he Rest In Peace.  Jerry and Marcia and family
