Dad and his weekend projects

April 9, 2019

There was nothing my father could not do with his hands. Any project, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, landscaping....you name it and he tackled it. As a kid I thought he was crazy. Every weekend he was out there working on some home project and of course dragging me out of bed to assist.

I'd count the minutes until we were done and I could be freed of the burden, after all why did I need to know how to do any of this? And why did I need to do it over and over again each week!

Well as it turned out, I learned from it all and gain the same skills he had. In fact the biggest complement I could ever get from my Father was when we worked on some project at my own home with him turning to me and saying "Your much better at this than I was". He was a perfectionist when it came to all this stuff, so it was indeed high praise. I only wished we had one more project together.

Thanks Dad!
