His Life
July 11, 2019

Jack Raymond Brown, 77, of Punta Gorda, FL, passed away peacefully in Fox River Grove, IL surrounded by his loving family on July 11, 2019.

Jack is survived by his daughters Kimberly Brown (Michael Frazier), Danielle Alarcon (Anthony Otte), son Michael (Therese DeNicolo Brown), his loving grandchildren Alyssa Alarcon, Henna Brown Frazier, Graysen Brown, and Avery Brown, as well as nieces, nephews and extended family. Jack was a loving father, son, grandfather, uncle, and friend to everyone.

Born in Ohio to Sophia (Toda) Brown, and adopted by Edward Brown, he was raised in both Chicago, Illinois and Little Rock Arkansas. He had a brother Donald Toda and is survived by his sister Mary Kelly.

Jack loved boating and working on boats whenever he could, smoking a good cigar in the sun, a hard day’s work, having fun, and spending time with family and friends. He also enjoyed movies and snacking was one of his favorite pastimes. Jack was always there to help friends when they needed him. He worked in various and numerous construction work for over 40 years and had his own lawn mowing business in Florida. For nearly 30 years, he lived in and raised his children in Fox River Grove, Illinois with his wife Anne Brown. Following his divorce, he moved to Florida where he lived for 18 years. He had made many friends and a wonderful life there. When he found out he was ill, he moved back to Illinois to spend every quality moment he could with his family.

A special thank you to Anne Brown, who lovingly supported Kim, Danielle, and Michael, as well as cared for Jack in his final weeks and days. Also, a special thank you to the people at Mercy Health Hospice in Rockford for their support and care during his final days.
