Jack Stone passed away peacefully on February 2, 2019 at the age
of 95. He came to Los Angeles as a baby and upon high school graduation attended summer school at UCLA, while waiting for acceptance into the US Naval Academy. He was accepted but declined in favor of staying at UCLA where he joined the Naval ROTC completing that program with the highest position a cadet can reach, Battalion Commander.

In October 1944, he received orders for active duty as Main Battery Turret Officer and served on the battleships USS Missouri and USS South Dakota, ships that were involved in the battles of Iwo Jima, the Philippines, Marshall Islands, Okinawa and finally Tokyo. Jack witnessed the Japanese surrender aboard the USS Missouri September 2, 1945.

He was a real estate developer and mortgage loan broker.

Jack is survived by his wife of 72 years, 3 children, 6 grandchildren
and 4 great grandchildren. He was a terrific naval officer, husband and father. He will be greatly missed.
