My Pop
Jack Wayland Blalock
1955-2021
Welcome to the virtual memorial of Jack Blalock. I know this is a little different from a normal memorial service, but given the COVID times, what is normal?
I am Jesse Blalock (Jack’s middle son), and on behalf of my family I would like to personally thank you for visiting this memorial. The outpouring of love and admiration for my dad throughout his sickness and in his passing has been absolutely encouraging and heart-warming.
I could write pages about my Dad’s life and his impact on my life, but I will reserve that to my own memories, and leave you with a few excerpts that have shaped me the most.
Growing up, as much as I can remember, Dad enjoyed his work and enjoyed owning his own business. More importantly he enjoyed his customers and socializing every single day. I would call pop regularly, and he would always have the latest happenings around town to report to me. More in depth from that, he impressed me the way he was able to run a successful business while juggling life and raising 3 kids. I cannot imagine the stress and headaches he was able to manage daily.
I am so proud of what all he was able to accomplish throughout his life. I think the aspect that inspires me the most is how he was always there for his sons. Growing up, he never missed a practice, game, or any other event. Later in life, all it took was a phone call and he would be there for us for anything at any time of the day. He was our safety net-so to speak. While he was always there for us, he also taught us to be self-sufficient, successful, humbled men on our own. He is an inspiration, and a role-model as a dad. He often told me, he had no idea how to be a father, but I think I can speak for me and my brothers, you did good Pop.
This is the hardest thing I have ever had to write, and never thought this day would come; however, knowing he gave me the tools I need to carry on and make the Blalock name proud offers some peace. There will never be enough words written about Dad to be sufficient, but I will end with this summary: Jack was an amazing man, exemplary father, and excellent businessman. He will be missed incredibly by many. My dad left such a positive impact on this Earth. I hope to live out my life in the same manner and make him proud. I love you Pop!
PS. Please take COVID seriously. Wear your masks. Get your vaccine when it becomes available to you.

On behalf of Bro. Jacks brothers at Valley Head Lodge #394 i would like to say Bro. Jack has been a member of our lodge for 35 years and is a Past Master. We send our condolences to his family and will lift them up in our prayers. Bro Jack will be missed by all our members..
What can I say about my Uncle Jack? He was the best uncle a girl could ask for! He was always so fun and full of life. I can't tell you how many people have told me recently that they knew him (through his business) and how much they loved and looked forward to seeing him! I know from my own interactions and observations and those of my family that Uncle Jack was a good, honest man, a wonderful brother to my Mom, a loving husband to my Aunt Lynn, an ever present and caring father to my cousins, and a wonderful grandfather. He always loved to hear what was going on in our lives and I know my Mom and Dad enjoyed many lunches with him and made many good memories. When I was going through my pictures a few days ago, many memories came to mind and I realized how he was always there for me with the things that I did. School years, graduations, birthdays, my wedding, the birth of my children, and all the other times in between. I remember spending the night at his house when I was younger, going to play in the pool with my cousins, the high school graduation celebration I had with them and several other things. I will be forever grateful to have those memories. I even remember that he came to the hospital to sit with us when my Dad was having health problems years ago. That's just the kind of man he was. I know that we well all miss him dearly but my 5 year old daughter put things into perspective for me yesterday. She was telling me that they were learning about the letter J in school. She told me that Jack begins with J. Then she said, but he is gone isn't he Mommy? I said yes sweetheart. Then she said, with wisdom beyond her years, "but it's ok Mommy, he will be in our hearts for ever just like Jesus is!" She was right, and in this time I am reminded to lean on Him as I hope that we all will. So to close, I encourage everyone reading this to lean on Jesus, love on your family, and try to stay safe and healthy. I love you Uncle Jack and you will be in my heart forever!
Mr. Jack was such a special man. He has taken excellent care of our copier needs at Isbell Medical Group for years, but more than that he became a member of our family! He always had a smile and a story to make us laugh. There were also many conversations about you (his family) and it was always obvious how much love and pride he had for all of you. Please know that our prayers have been and will continue to be with you. Our hearts are broken with you and we will never forget his kindness and sweet spirit.
I have known Jack for over 40 years and consider him a good friend.
I always enjoyed visiting wth Jack when he stoped by the office.
He always brightened my day.
I know from the many conversations we had together that he loved his wife and family.
He was an honest upright man and the perfect example of a good good man.
I will continue to pray for all of you in the coming days.
Farewell my Friend and Brother Rest in Peace until we meet again.
