Jack Ferrara, 95, of Greenbriar 1 in Brick passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 16th.  

Born in Jersey City, Mr. Ferrara lived in Menlo Park Terrace from 1995 until moving to Brick 24 years ago.  He served in the US Marines for three years during WWII.  After his return home he become a plumber by trade joining Local 24 Plumbers Union in 1972 from which he retired in 1990.

Over his long life he was involved with many organizations.  While living in Menlo Park, he was an active member of the Menlo Park Youth Association as a baseball coach and commissioner and received the Lockwood award for his many years of dedication.  He was also member of the Iselin Knights of Columbus.  After moving to Greenbriar he joined the Bowling League and Golf Club and Romeos.  He also enjoyed traveling and his many trips to Atlantic City with his family and friends.  

Beloved husband of Phyllis Ferrara, who predeceased him in 2007, he was a loving and caring father, grandfather and great-grandfather.  Mr. Ferrara is survived by two daughters Jacquelyn ONeill of Monroe Twp., and Linda Grouss of Toms River, two sons, David Ferrara and his wife, Linda, of Brick and Jack Ferrara, Jr. of Venice, FL.  He was also the proud grandfather to Michael, Jack, Nickole, Thomas, Jessica, Kristen, Matthew and Megan, and six great-grandchildren. 

A private funeral service will take place at Ocean County Memorial Park.  The family will hold a celebration of his life at a later date.
