This memorial website was created in memory of our dad, Jack Pelton -- born on February 12, 1921 in Pontiac MI and passed away on May 20, 2017 at Palm Gardens, Ocala FL. We will remember him forever and are grateful to have had such a wonderful dad. 
The site is prepared and managed by his five children: Eileen, Eric, Roger, Julie, Paulette.

Jack Simmons Pelton, age 96, Army WWII Veteran, formerly of Pontiac and Oxford (MI) died peacefully May 20, 2017 in Palm Gardens Ocala FL.

Beloved husband of the late Pauline (nee Gauthier) and late Catherine (nee McDonnell).  Loving father of Eileen (Larry Dittmar), Eric Pelton (Melody), Roger Pelton (Tracie), Julie (Charles Halash), and Paulette.

Grandchildren: Lara Zierle, Erika Dittmar; Rhiannon Pelton, Alicia Pelton, Valorie Chapin, Danielle Pelton, Blake Pelton; Andrew Pelton; Charles Halash, Peter Halash (d 2014), Katelyn Halash, Matthew Halash, Melissa Halash, Maria Halash; Gregory J. Wood, Sarah Wood-Potts.

Great Grandchildren Imani Pelton, Colin Potts, Kennie Chapin and Lilly Chapin.

Jack was a1939 Pontiac High School graduate. Served in the Army 1942-1946.

Married Pauline Gauthier 1948 (d 1979); a lifelong resident in Oakland County; a loving husband and father who retired from General Motors Truck and Coach in 1980 and was a lifelong member of UAW Pontiac Michigan.  
                                    
Jack was a devoted father and enjoyed watching the home movies of the kids growning up in Pontiac and Oxford. He was an avid Detroit Tiger fan. Additionally, he enjoyed swimming, bicycle riding, and bowling -- and actively enjoyed them well into his 90s!

Jack moved to Ocala Florida and married Catherine McDonnell 1981 (d. 2010) and enjoyed living in The Villas at Spanish Oaks more than 30 years. He passed away peacefully 5/20/2017 in Ocala FL at Palm Gardens. 

interment at Oxford Township Cemetery June 12, 2017 @ 1 pm.

Jack will be missed. Most of my childhood memories have him in them. Going canoeing,, camping, to stoney lake and many more. Prayers to the family Love Karla
