A Cruising Couple
Dad looked forward to his annual cruises with Mom. Great food, new friends, and new places to explore... did we mention food? Together, they cruised to Alaska, Europe, Mediterranean, Russia and Scandinavia, Hawaii and twice through the Panama Canal. Here he is with his stunning bride, decked out for a formal evening meal. Dad always knew how to wear a great suit.
Family Get-Together, September 2013
Jack's girls brought the family together for three nights in the Berkshires where the family vacationed every summer to visit Tanglewood. Here he is with Elaine and a handfull of their grandchildren on the great lawn infront of the music shed. It was a beautiful, perfect way to spend the day with Nonnie and Pa.
great friend
We will miss Jack very, very much at Temple Bnai-Shalom. He was a great story teller with lots of words of wisdome to the younger congregation member.
We loved his energy and his leadership in the men's club. Ofcourse, organizing our temple movie nights, and always giving us, Red Sox fans a jab or two during the baseball season.
he was such a proud father and grandfather always telling us stories about his grandchildren's accomplishments and various school achievments.
we , his temple family will miss him very much!

Magical Moments
My dad and I could talk about anything. And we did...during long bike rides in the park, while playing basketball in the yard, and more than a few times, on our way to the candy store "down the block". My dad could make even a simple walk to the candy store an adventure, something magical. It couldn't have been more than three blocks, no longer than thirty minutes, there and back. But it was filled with jokes and stories and, always, a nugget of wisdom or some words to live by.
As we approaced the traffic light across from the shopping center, my dad always did this one thing. The light would be red. We couldn't cross. Then he'd begin the countdown, "Three, two, one.." He'd purse his lips and blow...and the light would change! He got me every time. Later I would learn his secret, the clicking noise that came just before the light changed. I somehow never heard it. To me it was magic.
My dad always made the simplest of moments the most magical of times and that is just part of what made him so special.
In His Own Words...
I always felt that being a dad was the best job in the world! Having a little friend to share all the things you love to do, with mutual love--what could be better.
Then it seems my little friends grew up and were replaced by a whole new bunch, and even though we didn't see each other every day, being a grandpa has to be right up there with being a daddy.
So the latest part of this life cycle is that the former teacher is now learning from those little kids that used to be his little pals! My cup runneth over.
I love you -- Daddy
