About Jake

November 15, 2014

2006-5/28/2014 Mount Julet, TN.

We moved to a quiet cul-de-sac, Creek Landing Circle, and Jake attended Mount Juliet High School. "Bear Pride". Jake was in the last graduating class of the old bear cave 2008. He loved the old bear cave and use to imitate his principal Mr. Brown. I think that was the first in his long list of imitations that we all got to know and love. It was during this time that Jake's music started to take shape. He joined his buddy, Mikey Roe's hardcore band "Ah, We Meet Again" with Evan and Sean. They had quite a following and played the local music scene at Rocket Town, the Muse and other venues.

After graduating High School Jake attended the SAE Institute (School of Audio Engineering) and earned a certificate in music enginnering. He used his Pro Tools on his MAC for many personal projects such as the one you are hearing now named "Silver Rose"  for his first Rock and Roll girlfriend Stephanie.

Jake was hired at Cracker Barrel and worked there for about three years. He loved his cracker barrel family. He joined another band Killshot with his friends Derek, Jessie and Chris. They played all over Nashville and even Greenbrier. After Cracker Barrel he attended Nashville Bartending school and graduated with a degree in mixology. He was then hired by Gaylord Opryland hotel and worked in the sports bar called the fuse. He loved everyone there and made lifetime friends until his accident, the outpouring form the fuse was incredable and Management closed the fuse so everyone could attend Jake's funeral. Mike Mason even wore a jakepace0190 shirt in his honor.

Chantel was the love of Jakes life. They were planing to marry and the accident occured while moving her back to Nashville from El Paso Tx to the apartment he had searched for and found in Nashborovillege. He was very proud of it and worked hard and saved until he could afford to move out. Jake, Brian and I got up early in the morning and rented a trailer and moved his stuff from his bedroom to the new appartment. He was so excited! The morning of taking him to the airport, I really don't remember what we talked about. I told him to becareful and that I loved him. I got out hugged him and watched him walk through the doors at the Southwest terminal. That was the last time I would see him alive.

Jake was only 24 years old when his life was ended but he had lived it fully and touched allot of peoples hearts with his music, his smile and charcter. We will always miss our Jake.
PS, Tommy Maresco takes credit for calling him "Jake the snake".

About Jake

August 14, 2014

Jacob Daniel was born on January 3, 1990 in Riverside, California.  He lived in Moreno Valley, CA until he was almost two years old, then moved to Perry, Georgia in December 1991 and lived there about 11 years.  While in Perry, GA, Jake attended Tucker Elementary School and Perry Middle School.  Jake would often go hunting with his Dad and he really enjoyed that, except he hated wasps!  He seemed to be a target for them and we would joke that if there was a wasp around, Jake would get stung!  He got his first guitar, a Fender Squire, while in Perry and became a good guitarist, even without taking lessons. Jake saw his first concert "Creed" in Atlanta with Bob Leon and Dad.

In the summer of 2002, we relocated to Port St. Lucie, Florida. It was there that Jake met two of his most important musical influences. His Uncle Tommy Marseco and his son Tommy Jr. While Jake's father, Dale, was visiting his brother, Danny in California, he found Jake's legendary Gibson Gothic SG hanging on a wall in Sam Ash. Dale bought it and had it shipped back to Florida and surprised Jake. Tommy took Dale and Jake over to Jam Music where Jake started taking lessons from Chris and Erine form the band Story of Midnight.

Dale:  'I remember one day being at Guitar Center. Tommy and I had walked over to the amps and were checking them out. All of a sudden we heard Guns and Roses Sweet Child of mine and saw a small group of people standing around. When we got over there it was Jake playing. I was so proud and knew then he would turn out to be a great guitarest.'

It was in Florida where Jake started high school and attended Fort Pierce Central. He loved being a purple cobra. This is where he met three good friends that he would keep in touch with the rest of his life; Chris Smith, Ian Kirkland and Justine Brown, who would later become his girlfriend.

After Flordia we lived in Texas for a short 11 months. Jake attended Timberview High School. He used to bring his guitar to school everyday and play it in the hallways.  While in Texas, the family took a trip to the Grand Canyon, and there are pictures of us there on this memorial.  Anita:  I wanted the boys to see the Grand Canyon.  It is one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen and I wanted to be sure both Jake and Brian got a chance to see it.  They were both overwhelmed.  I'm so greatful we were able to go there with the boys.'

My Prayer for My Jacob by his Mom

August 11, 2014

Heavenly Father,
As time goes on, I will never forget my Jake and his gifts;
His kind heart, as so many have felt
The beautiful dark brown eyes you gave him (a bit of his Mom), as so many have looked into
His sweet smile, as so many have seen
His deep voice, which I will hear in my mind always, and will hear again
His wonderful sense of humor, so many times Jake made me laugh
His unique walk, that was distinctly Jacob (and a bit his Dad)
Jake, who became a wonderful young man
I am so proud of who he became
He is my son; he is your son
But Jake is a gift from You, Lord, as all children are
And you have brought him home to be with you, and Jacob is with you now.
And I will see him again, our Jacob, and all will be perfect, for your Word says:
"The Lord will perfect that which concerns me; Thy mercy, O Lord, endureth Forever"  Psalm 138:8
I miss my son dearly; my heart hurts that he isn't with me, but I thank you Lord, for letting us have him for 24 years, and for giving Jacob eternal life with you.
Amen
