Jacob Daniel was born on January 3, 1990 in Riverside, California. He lived in Moreno Valley, CA until he was almost two years old, then moved to Perry, Georgia in December 1991 and lived there about 11 years. While in Perry, GA, Jake attended Tucker Elementary School and Perry Middle School. Jake would often go hunting with his Dad and he really enjoyed that, except he hated wasps! He seemed to be a target for them and we would joke that if there was a wasp around, Jake would get stung! He got his first guitar, a Fender Squire, while in Perry and became a good guitarist, even without taking lessons. Jake saw his first concert "Creed" in Atlanta with Bob Leon and Dad.
In the summer of 2002, we relocated to Port St. Lucie, Florida. It was there that Jake met two of his most important musical influences. His Uncle Tommy Marseco and his son Tommy Jr. While Jake's father, Dale, was visiting his brother, Danny in California, he found Jake's legendary Gibson Gothic SG hanging on a wall in Sam Ash. Dale bought it and had it shipped back to Florida and surprised Jake. Tommy took Dale and Jake over to Jam Music where Jake started taking lessons from Chris and Erine form the band Story of Midnight.
Dale: 'I remember one day being at Guitar Center. Tommy and I had walked over to the amps and were checking them out. All of a sudden we heard Guns and Roses Sweet Child of mine and saw a small group of people standing around. When we got over there it was Jake playing. I was so proud and knew then he would turn out to be a great guitarest.'
It was in Florida where Jake started high school and attended Fort Pierce Central. He loved being a purple cobra. This is where he met three good friends that he would keep in touch with the rest of his life; Chris Smith, Ian Kirkland and Justine Brown, who would later become his girlfriend.
After Flordia we lived in Texas for a short 11 months. Jake attended Timberview High School. He used to bring his guitar to school everyday and play it in the hallways. While in Texas, the family took a trip to the Grand Canyon, and there are pictures of us there on this memorial. Anita: I wanted the boys to see the Grand Canyon. It is one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen and I wanted to be sure both Jake and Brian got a chance to see it. They were both overwhelmed. I'm so greatful we were able to go there with the boys.'
