Jacob Tyrone Jackson Born July 17, 1987

The youngest of four children born to Charlcenna & Gary Jackson.

Jacob could not wait to get here to meet his siblings. He was born premature...6 months. He had his share of challenges as a preemie: having a feeding tube and born with sickle cell disease. His parents were told he may not walk, he may not talk and he may not eat solid foods, but he DID that and so much more. He fought to be here and beat the odds!

Jacob had 2 siblings to keep up with and he wasn't going to let anything keep him from following behind them!

When Jacob was in middle school his mother married Carl Walton. Carl and Jacob had a close bond spending a great deal of time together. Jacob affectionately called Carl "dad" and he was later adopted by Carl. Jacob didn't complain about being sick and he was sick often. This disease did not define him and it didn't keep him from doing what he wanted to do and going where he wanted to go. He was a survivor living his life to the fullest and determined to be happy. He was loving and compassionate, being concerned about others. He enjoyed being with his family and friends. When he had a sickle cell crisis and was hospitalized he would say,"I had to go in for an OVERHAUL-I will be back". He was not afraid of dying. He knew he had no control over that.

Jacob is preceded in death by his oldest brother James and dad Carl. He is survived by his mother Charlcenna, big sister Mahogany, big brother Gary,Jr., father Gary Jackson, sisters Jennifer Gentry, Joycelynn Kane, Grandmother Barbara Jackson-Allen, aunts, uncles, family and friends.

Memorial Service will be held at NEW SOLID ROCK BAPTIST CHURCH 2817 Walters Lane, Forestville, MD   Wed. April 8 @ 11 a.m.

The FIRST time

March 27, 2015

To all my grand children I was know as "Grandmother, Gran, and Grandma" then this ittle 3 years old Jacob suddenly began referring to me as "GRANNIE".  I cringed and told him that I'm "Grandma" he said no you are my GRANNIE.
That is how I First got that tittle.

For You

March 23, 2015

Dear Cousin Jacob,

You made your presence
You gave your time
But most of all, you completed your task

To have known you for one minute or twenty-seven years...
     We are blessed

Some may have a tear but
Some may have a soft word

But most of all memories of you are etched in our hearts and minds

Sweet Jacob, Rest in Peace,
