His Life

Never Forgotten and Forever Loved

June 26, 2013

I will continue to add to this Memorial until it is finished. Please be patient with me...

I am so thankful and Blessed to have been a part of Jake's life since November 23rd 1991. But this Memorial

is about Him and keeping his Memory alive for ALL who loved him and everyone Jake came in contact with did just that.

Jake was a people person and had a heart bigger than Texas itself. People would meet him and think they had known him

forever. He had that kind of personality that drew people to him like a magnet...

Jake was an awesome friend to so many. From people he grew up with, went to school with, to people he worked with through his years.

Jake was a wonderful Son to his Mom and Dad. He was a very Special Brother to Mike. Jake cherished his grown Daughter Emily and the

time they spent together. Jake was definitely a Family man. He also loved his Step-Children Amber, Aaron and Destiny. And 5 Step-Grandaughters

Haylee, Brittany, Jasmine, Jolynne and Jordan. The kids called him "Dad" and the Grandkids called him "Pa-Pa". He was much loved by

numerous other family members and friends...

Jake loved Country music. And Waylon Jennings was his all time favirite. There were times when he would sit at my computer and watch

all of Waylon's videos on YouTube. And I do mean ALL. Sometimes we would sing along with him. Those were some good times. Jake liked

classic rock too but he would always say "If it ain't Country, it ain't music".

Jake loved to fish. We became great fishing buddies. When we first started fishing together all those years ago he would have to rig my line,

bait my hook and take my fish off. He finally said one day "If you're gonna fish with me, you're gonna have to learn how to do all of this". Needless

to say to this day I can rig my own line, bait my own hook and take the fish off. Fishing together became our best and funnest hobby...

Jake was a cancer survivor twice. I was so proud of the courage he displayed going through all of that. Because I know deep down he was scared.

But he endured it all with the love and support from his family. He's a true Hero in my eyes...

Jake worked hard as a rigger and crane operator. He was the Best of the Best. He has so many certificates from that craft. His last job

consisted of him being crane and rigging foreman which he gave that title all the best he had. His saying on the job was "Get Back Or Get Killed"  and

everyone who ever worked with him knew this. When Jake set out to do something he put everything he had into it. That's what makes him stand

out above all the rest. I am very proud of ALL he achieved...

Nobody and I do mean NOBODY can ever hold a candle to Jake Davis. The world only had one and you will NEVER meet another like him.

That's why I am Blessed and thank my lucky stars I am able to say I knew him and loved him...
