Jimmy...This one's for you❤I walked to the ocean tonight. I sat on a big ol' rock and listened to the waves as I talked to our mom on the phone a million miles away. I said hello to some vagabond cats and spoke to mom about how proud I was of your homeless outreach and service ministry you offered "the least of these". Even when you had little to give, you gave all. I wonder if you even knew that you were serving God in ways that made him smile. Sure...your guardian angel probably had daily heart attacks at some of your life choices ‍♀️but if the good really does outweigh the bad...you will come up on top, of this I am sure.

5 years ago today this beautiful human left this life. My life. At 48, he had lived more lives than most truthfully. Many times he was my hero and many times I was his. Losing a sibling is like losing a part of your heart. It still beats but it's weaker, it struggles, it's less than before. We weren't in each others everyday, but we knew each other deeply. 11 years difference in age never stopped our bonding, laughing, loving, confessing, crying, partying... we didn't fight like siblings closer in age. We just agreed to disagree. We disagreed many times. When I lost him, I didn't realize what it meant. The total end of a lifetime of friendship. It's hard to explain what it's like when your brother dies. Time has gone by fast. Unreal how fast 5 years goes. I have lots of questions for him one day. Maybe the answers won't matter by then. I love you Jimmy. Always and forever your sister...your friend.

Today, 4 years ago, Jim moved on to eternity. His soul roams in the everlasting presence of genesis, in the time-space continuum. He is happy. He is grateful.

Rest in peace, Jim. Today will be three (3) years since you left Planet Earth and joined the spirit world in a much larger universe. Don't forget to send us a glimmer, a note, a laugh from beyond. Your grandma Betty joined you May 17, 2017. Say hello.

I had a vision. I saw you in Heaven, healthy, and happy. I know you are safe and well. It is all I ask. Thank you God.  I gave your winter scarf (you left at Jan"s) to Jose. He is proud to wear it against the cold. He is planning to buy a Broncos cap "for you". We all talk about you and miss you. Too bad there isn't visiting hours in Heaven! Love, Mom

50 years ago today, I gave birth to an amazing son. I named him James. I called him Jimmy. Then he became Jim, then, James to some.
Now, he lives with Jesus, and to me he will always be Jimmy. Happy birthday, son.

When I recently read this little rhyme, it spoke to me as if Jimmy was saying it: I love you all dearly, now don't shed a tear. I'm spending Christmas with Jesus this year.

Happy Birthday Bimmy! My heart still breaks, but I know you have passed through Heavens Gates. You walked slowly inside sure there had been a mistake by someone, then you heard the words "You have done well my good and faithful Son. You see I saw your troubles and I saw your strife, however I saw you give to the least of men within inches of your own life. You had to struggle there, to appreciate what you have in Heaven dear. Now worry no more, watch over your loved ones, and save them a place beside you when their days are done.

Jimmy's ashes will be taken to Oregon when time permits a group of family members to travel together. His ashes will be distributed in Crater Lake and at Multnomah Falls. A portion will be kept with us so he can always go with us when we travel. Some is already in Arizona. This is the way he would want it. At least he has no more pain. I miss him so much.

This was Jim's Facebook photo. I took this picture one day(2012?) when I gave him a ride home from a worksight in Cedar Rapids. I guess he thought it was a good example of his life at the time. I loved that he could smile at the end of such a hard day!
