James Bradsher “Shorty” Boyd, 83, a lifetime resident of Granville County passed away Monday, March 17th 2014 at Carver Living Center in Durham.

A native of Granville County, the son of the late James Augustus and Ethel Beal Boyd. He was of the Baptist faith and retired as a healthcare technician at John Umstead Hospital in Butner.

Memorial services will be conducted Saturday, March 22, 2014 at Knotts Grove Bethesda Missionary Baptist Church in Oxford by Pastor Tim Short and Vinson E. Beckwith Jr. Burial will be private.

Visitation will be held from 1:00-2:00 PM Saturday, March 22, 2014 at the church.
