James was born in California in 1996 to Judy and Mike Sattersfield.
In 1998 his sister Bella was born, followed in 2002 by his sister Ruby.
In 2004 he had the brother he always wanted Alfie. 

2005 marked an important year for the Sattersfield family as they moved from Los Angeles to Portsmouth to care for an elderly relative, they decided to stay permanently after a year.
2018 was a big personal year for James as he was given a place at a top dance school, a school he only attended for one year out of three.
