My Childhood Memories

February 10, 2013

As a kid, my father was one of those awesome dads! He would replace the back bar on my bicycle with a sissy bar, help me put the straw things on the bike wheels so it would clack along as I rode. I remember being on the front porch sitting up on the banister and as he drove up to the house, I hopped off to run and greet him. Unfortunately, I wasn't watching and jumped right down on top of a piece of glass, cut a huge gash in the bottom of my bare feet. He scooped me up and carried me into the kichen where he took care of my foot.

He would always brush my hair in the evenings. Mom was always in a rush and when she brushed my hair, it was a painful experience.  But, when dad brushed my hair, he took his time, he'd make sure that he got the knots out as gently as possible.

He would wrestle with us on the floor, tickle us and even let us paint with him no matter how bad we were. He'd just fix it when we weren't looking.

He would take us to big parking lots and do donuts in the snow, as my mom would fuss at him, we'd be giggling and laughing in the back seat.

these are just a few memories I have.
