James (Jimmy) Edgar Ward, 68, was born November 28, 1955, in Dayton, Ohio to Getrude Hamilton Ward. He passed away on Sunday, December 3, 2023, at home in Dayton, Ohio. A lifelong Daytonian, Jimmy was known to friends and family as “Slim”. Jimmy attended and graduated from Dayton Public Schools. Jimmy retired from Montgomery Paper Company after 30 years of service. Jimmy was known to help friends and family by providing a listening ear, assisting with moving, painting, yard work and whatever was needed. He was a quiet force, a true Cincinnati Bengals fan, and will be missed by family and friends. Jimmy is preceded in death by his mother (Getrude Hamilton Ward Dyer), brother (John Ward Jr.), brother and sister-in-law (Gordon Chinell Ward and Marilyn Ward), sister and brother-in-law (Vietta Ward Millerton and James Millerton). Jimmy is survived by brothers Howard (Judy) Ward, Luther (Lori) Ward, and Gay Ward, a host of nieces and nephews whom he loved deeply and close friends Harold J. Warren III “Poncho”, and Calvin Tribble.
