I love my dad. But most of all miss him.

I miss his smile and his big ears. Miss his style. I miss his laugh and his lies. I really miss his honesty with me. I remember when our lives started six years ago because yes it started (over) six years ago. I went to see him at valley med on his last trip back from Texas. So I show up with a Hershey's bar and a couple Big Macs (since that is what he wanted). Well...Paul and I exit the elevator, we proceed to his room...

About 6-7 seconds off the elevator to his unit. I pass a man he sas, " well excuse me young lady aren't you rude. Have no-manners! " I said, "OH! Sorry. Would you like me to hold the door open!" He chuckles and says " can't even say hi to your old man!" "Old man, where is he?" He laughed in confusion. I then looked down at his hands and I said,  " What old man dad your 35 years young!" You see...

The reason for my story is...that even after his silly ear piercing and dramatic change from walking to being in a wheel chair from the last time I had seen him. Oh and his illness at the time.... I still remembered those hands, four starred knuckles, rough and strong, that held me when I was born. And man where they a good set of hands to hold when I needed someone to walk and listen to me, he was there and Today I would like to thank him for that ...so, Thanks Daddy!
