His Life

My Dad

July 9, 2012

My Dad was the best Dad in the world! When he was in his teens he met the love of his life Mary Louise Dolly. They got Married and have been married for 51 years. My Dad was a hard working and strong man. He worked hard all of his life. He worked at Farming, Sanding and hammering off the residue from old bricks to make a new building called " James Madison University", he picked apples, He worked cleaning Romney hospital, He worked for Mineral County Schools as an Electrician and on the maintanance crew and the painting crew, and probably numerous other jobs he may not have mentioned. Dad was faithful at attending church and helping fix things at the church. He loved to read his Bible. He could quote alot of scriptures from the Bible. He was a loving Father, Husband and Son. Dad loved to make up funny songs and sing them, and everyone at his work place loved to listen to him sing and tell funny stories. He would sing to us kids and his Grandchildren and we all loved to hear him. Dad grew up with little to nothing hardly, I think that is why he worked so hard. Dad would give to alot of people to help them...even strangers..in fact I don't think Dad ever turned anyone down for help if he had it, because he knew what it was like not to have. Dad loved to go Fishing, for a walk, he loved to talk about just anything. He never met a stranger. He loved to Camp, collect old coins, and antiques. He was mostly always smiling and just happy. Dad loved us kids and we all loved Dad so much.He was loved by many people. Dad lived a good life. Yes I can say that Dad's life was "A life well lived" I could go on forever about the joy of having Dad in our lives! Many people were blessed to have Dad in their lives, but none more blessed than his Wife and his 8 children that loved him with all their hearts!
