Sometime in the middle to late '80's, I was working a part-time job for Hardbarger's Junior College soliciting applications out on the NC Fairgrounds. A short, little man approached me to ask if I ever had occasion for a band or knew anyone who did because he had a band. He was very nice and I told him that I'd been in bands for a number of years but was currently not in one. Somehow, that began my musical association with Jim. I've taken time to thank Jim through the years for all he taught me along my musical career but somehow, with his joining the "Heavenly Choir", I realize more fully that he was one of God's Angels who came to me at a time when I really needed an Angel. He was always kind, caring, honest-----not only with me-----but WOW, the "smiles"/"happiness" he shared with folks-----just to see him smile. His warmth was so genuine and everflowing. It was so delightful to have known both Barbara and Jim, and my life is ever so enriched by our paths crossing that Summer's day. Though we all shall miss him, we're all better people for having known him, and we'll just have to carry on "spreading sunshine" in this world in which we live!
