James "Jim" Howard Horton passed away on December 1, 2021 at 12:56 pm in Dayton, Ohio. Born on May 25, 1965 in Fort Worth, Texas, Jim was the second of six children to Rodney and Betty Horton. Jim served four years in the United States Army, during which time he went to Fort Campbell, KY and Germany, which he spoke of often. Proceeded in death by his grandparents, Mary and Marion Main, Irvin and Lilian Howard, his parents, Rodney and Betty Horton, and his aunts, Carole Horton and Francis Rickard (David). Jim is survived by his uncle, Jerry (Mary), his siblings, Marie, Kathy, Dave (Sherrie), John (Bernadeth), Sam (Brittany), his nieces and nephews William, Michael (Linda), Anna (Nicholas), Andrew, Asha, Isaac, Barak, and great nieces and nephews, Corbyn, Kaitlyn, Aleksandr, Henley and Emily. Jim was a teacher and he loved teaching, he taught as an adjunct professor at Sinclair Community College for many years in their technology department and in May 2021, he took a job at the Dayton Corp as a technology instructor. Jim was willing to help anyone who needed it, no matter what the cost was to him, if he thought the person honestly was in need. This extended to his family, helping them around their houses and running errands as needed. Jim was deeply loved and cared about by his family and will be truly and dearly missed. Jim believed in a life after his earthly one, an eternal life in Heaven with his Heavenly Father which is where he is today. The family appreciates the thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

A memorial service for Jim will be planned and details will be shared as they become available.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Jim's name to Miami Valley Bible Church. The church will take the donations in Jim's name and give the money to missionaries.
