Plans are coming together for a Celebration of Life for our friend James. Here are the details:

Date: Sunday, August 2

Time: 4 pm - 8 pm or so

Place: Mono Lake County Park

Directions: 5 miles North of Lee Vining on Highway 395. Turn right (East) on Cemetery Road. Park is down the hill about 1/2 mile.

Be aware there is road construction between Lee Vining and the park which may delay you 15-20 minutes, 24 hours a day.

Food: Please bring potluck food of your choice and drink. Please bring your own plates, silverware, cups, etc. Picnic style. (We will have extras of these if you forget).

Please bring a chair for yourself.

Clothes: Dress casually and comfortably. Dress for the Eastern Sierra, outdoors, at 6800 feet in August; in other words anything from hot and dry to chilly and damp. Wind is always possible. Hats are recommended. The Celebration will go on rain or shine.

Other details:

There will be an opportunity to share remembrances and stories..that is, if you wish, you are invited to stand and speak to the entire group.

There will be a table with writing materials for your recollections and photo corners for you to include any photographs of James. These are always appreciated. Cards for Kay/Rosanne/Bayard/Ansel also may be left there.

There will be a donation basket if you wish to leave a donation in James' memory to any of the following organizations:

Friends of the Inyo;

Eastern Sierra Friends of Machik (checks made to Machik);

The Mono Lake Committee.
