James Denniston, 88 passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 5th at Ocean Medical Center, Brick, NJ, due to complications from a fall.

He was born and lived the first fifty years of his life in North Brunswick, NJ. He attended Parsons Elementary School where he met his future wife Jackie Stromenger Denniston. Jim served in the US Navy at the end of World War II, and after returning from the service, married and settled in North Brunswick, where he worked for General Motors for 30 years. He was extremely active in his community, serving in the North Brunswick Fire Company #1, American Legion, North Brunswick Board of Education and Raritan Valley Traffic club. He retired in 1977 to Point Pleasant where he was a member of the Point Pleasant Elks and the Meadow Point Association. He enjoyed time fishing , hunting, working in his garage and spending time with family.

He will be deeply missed by his wife of 68 years, Jackie, and their children, James and his wife Terry, and Judy Pehanick and her husband Paul. Pop Pop will also be missed by his 6 loving grandchildren: Kelly, Jamie, Erin, Megan, Jared, Michael and 6 great grandchildren.


A private memorial and celebration of life will be held at a later date for immediate family members.
