His Life
May 23, 2013

A Time to be Born James Edward Lyons, affectionately known by his family and friends as "Smut" was born to the late Mary Ann Lyons Middlebrooks and Fred Daniel of Griffin, Georgia on October 18, 1972 in Griffin, Georgia.  He was the third child of three siblings.  Smut lived a good life and expressed love and kindness to his children, family and friends.

A Time to Live Smut joined Sardis Baptist Church early in life.  He graduated from Lamar County Comprehensive High School and went on to join the work force.  He worked for the City of Forsyth until his health impaired him.

A Time to be Called Home Smut departed this life on Tuesday, May 21, 2013.  He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Jessie and Charles Lyons.

He is survived by his twins, Jamiya and Jamyus and son, Jacquel Tompson; a special friend, Tamika Brantley; sister and surrogate mother, Janice Fletcher; brothers, Charles Lyons and Fred Daniels, Jr.; aunts, Odessa (Fred), Shirley (Samual), Brenda Adams; and a host of uncles, cousins, nephew, and friends.

For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand.  I have fought a good fight.  I have finished my course.  I have kept the faith:  Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day; and not to me only; but unto all them also that love his appearing.   Love You All, Smut
