In Memory of Jim Adams

James Merlyn Adams 11/4/32 to 2/6/15. 82 years old, born in Agate, WA and died in Victorville, CA.

James Adams passed away on February 6, 2015 after a long illness.  He is preceded in death by his two wives, Dorothy Adams and Violet Adams. His is also preceded by his father Elmer Adams (Charlotte), mother Ona Snelson Bernobich (Nick), and brothers Don Adams and David Adams. He is survived by his sweetheart Doris Mohr, his brothers Bill and Tom Adams and his sister, Beverly Hicks and by step brothers Jack Burton (Judy), Chuck Burton and step sister Yvonne Dunkin. Also survived by 6 children: Sandy Little, Sheryl Briggs (Roy), Susan Adams, Mary Posey (Justin), Ron Adams and Renee Carson (Greg). Jim has 13 grandchildren:  Jaime Powell, Mark Little (Jamie), Trevor Briggs, Amber Briggs, Kevin Briggs, Mary Simpson (Shannon), Robert O’Brien (Amber), Joshua Kitzmann, Michael Kitzmann (Stefanie), Ryan Carson, Chance Carson, Luke Carson and Samantha Adams. He also has 20 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins as well as many great friends. Jim felt he was blessed to have been a part of the families of Violet Adams and Doris Mohr.  They welcomed him into their families and he was happy to be a part of them. 

Jim and Dot moved from Centralia Washington to Petersburg, Alaska in 1968 with four daughters and twins on the way. They lived, worked and raised their family in Petersburg.  Jim worked for Ray Olson and Reid Brothers and Dot worked at PFI and Sandy’s Restaurant.  Their children graduated from Petersburg High. Jim and Dot were members of The Moose Lodge where he was famous for his "Tom and Jerrys" every New Year’s Eve.  They had many great friends in Petersburg.
