I'm so sorry for the loss of your dad. Mr. James was someone I always enjoyed talking with at church. When I asked about you, he and your mom would beam with pride! I know you, Pam, and Randy will miss him greatly as will I and the entire community. May God grant you precious memories as you continue to progress the legacy of his life. -- Kenneth R. Sims
May it be a source of inner strength to know that there's a loving God watching over you, and that, throughout this time of need, He'll stay close by your side.

My first meeting with Sheriff Morgan
I was 16 and had left the pony league ball field with, Lee Walace, Rhonda Mcclain and Cindy Belcher. It was a trip to the valley, of course we hald to be back bwfore the game was over. Well we were running late getting back. When we topped the hill where the bus shop is now ( old King Ford building ). Lafayette had two patrol car parked across the rode, blue lights everywhere. I slowed down stopping due to the rode being blocked, rolled down my window. The officer stated SHERIFF MORGAN want to talk to you, ok I ask where he was, the officer advise us to pull off the rode SHERIFF MORGAN was coming. I did and stepped out of the car, again the office pointing in the direction of lanett said here he comes. Looking back toward Lanett I say blue lighes coming over a hill about a mile back. As the Sheriff's Car pulled up and stopped. SHERIFF MORGAN was driving and Johnny Walker climbed out of the other side.I don't remember SHERIFF Morgan saying anything. Deputy Walker had been writing tickets continously sence he got out of the car.I ask SHERIFF MORGAN what all this was going to cost me. The first real reaction from SHERIFF MORGAN was a hard stare, he reached and took the tickets fron Deputy Walker, looking at me he said your going to get the mony and pay these ticket. He put the tickets in his pocket and told me to bring my father to the Sheriff's office the next day. Scarred to death, but by morning I decided I didn't sign the tickes and I wound rather not tell Herman Landrum. So I didn't...never heard anything from the tickets...
Then about three years lated Mike Looser had talked me into being a specal Deputy, still nothing has been mentioed. Untill one evening SHERIFF MORGAN Had planned a fish fry at the lake. SHERIFF MORGAN And Deputy Looser were about to leave the jail for the lake The phone rang it was Randolph County Hospital needing a blood run from Lafayette Hospital to Randolph County Hospital. Well putting it lightly Sheriff Morgan was not happy, He replied everytime I make plans something happens. Just as quick as he had gotten angry a smile came on his face look at looser and pointing at me, he in not so many word said Bill can take the Blood I know he can drive faster than me and he owes me one. I know it was a long story but I will never forget it or him. He was a great friend my whole life. R.I.P. MY FRIEND
