James R. Rathbone Woodstown, NJ James R. Rathbone, 65, of Woodstown, NJ passed away on August 8 at his home after a short fight with cancer.

He was born to Wilbert "Mick" Rathbone and Helen Rathbone, nee Ware, in Salem, NJ. Jim was a graduate of Salem High School and was an owner, trainer, and driver of standardbred racehorses. Racing took him around the country but he always returned to his friends and family in Salem County.

He is survived by his mother, Helen of Woodstown, NJ; his brother, Larry of Lake Worth, FL; his sons with his first wife, Linda: Brad of Pilesgrove, NJ, Brian of Rutherfordton, NC and their spouses: Jennifer and Tracey; his son with his second wife, Suzanne: Joshua of Pilesgrove, NJ; and his two grandchildren: Mick and Kaylee.

The family is planning a celebration of his life on August 23rd, at VFW Post 253 in Salem, NJ from 11:00AM to 3:00PM.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests sending donations to the Standardbred Retirement Foundation in Jim's name to SRF, Attention Paula Campbell, 353 Sweetmans Lane, Suite 101, Millstone, NJ 08535.
