We regretfully announce the passing of James Stephen Follett, age 66, who passed away surrounded by his loved ones on May 20, 2022. James fought a difficult battle and is finally at rest.
James was an extraordinary person. He worked in the food industry for over 40 years. His dedication to career made him a valuable, respected asset by business owners and a friendly face to his many customers.
James delighted in conversations about his many travel experiences when he was selected as “Employee of the Year” for a trip around the world, sponsored by Bonanza Restaurants. This was one of the greatest and most memorable highlights of his life.
James is predeceased by his mother, Ruth Follett and brother, Bob Follett. He is survived by two sisters, Barbara Smith (Alan), and Patricia Graham (Blake), and two brothers, Doug Follett (Dru), and David Follett (Katheryn). He leaves behind his two nieces, Jennifer Borish, and Christina Tooke, and his 7 nephews John Follett, Donny Follett, Chris Follett, Adam Graham, Alan Smith, Casey Graham, James Allen Follett, and Alex Follett. James adored all his nieces and nephews, including his additional 15 great nieces and nephews.
He will be forever loved and remembered.
A service for James will be held at the Canvas Church, 2116 Centennial Dr. Hoover, Alabama, June 4, 2022, at 11 am.
Contributions in memory of James can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
