I learned about computers from Jim. My family and I worked with Jim when he started his company Aetech in Solana Beach. I loved Jim’s sense of humor. One time I changed his computers default error message to something funny and when it popped up he laughed and fell backwards in his chair. I went with Jim on many trips in his airplane to teach Ada programming using the programming environment he developed. I had no idea what it meant at the time to be working and learning from a former USAF Colonel. I understand now as you see I work as a computer administrator for the Air Force at Nellis AFB Nevada. I think of Jim often as I come onto base early in the morning and pass by the jets and American flag. I often salute the flag and dedicate my work day to James T. Thomes, USAF Ret. I pledge to work hard and always with laughter as that what he taught me. Rest in peace Sir. Thank you for all you taught me. William D. Anderson
